The Eleventh Baseline Surface Radiation Network (BSRN) Scientific Review and Workshop (New Zealand, 13-16 April 2010)

The Eleventh BSRN Scientific Review and Workshop was held in Queenstown, New Zealand, 13-16 April 2010. In addition to presenting the BSRN review and the expectations of the network, Dr Ellsworth Dutton honored us by presenting the “Report from Spain and Discussion on Newly Proposed Sites and Site Needs” in which the Izaña Atmospheric Research Center presented the results of the first year of life of the BSRN station at the Izaña Observatory and proposed Santa Cruz as the site of a complementary BSRN station allowing for the characterization of radiation in the subtropical region in both the marine boundary layer and the free troposphere, as well as assessing the impact of sea cloud and the intrusion of Saharan air masses in the radiation. The Workshop program can be downloaded here. The Izaña Atmospheric Watch Center presentation can be downloaded here.
