Publication of a brief historical overview of the Izaña Observatory to commemorate its centenary (1916-2016)

As part of the actions we are undertaking in 2016 to commemorate the centenary of the Izaña Observatory, we have published a booklet entitled ” The Izaña Observatory Centenary: The exciting story of a mountain observatory on a remote island in the North Atlantic”, written by Dr Fernando de Ory Ajamil. The booklet gives a brief historical overview, spanning four centuries, of the first meteorological and atmospheric observations conducted in Tenerife, the events leading up to the creation of the Izaña Observatory and the 100 years since its inauguration.
