The monthly mean temperature in October 2017 was very high at Izaña Observatory

The thermometric behavior of last October 2017  has been anomalously warm at the Izaña Observatory. After the last years of 2015 and 2016, in which the month of October was only slightly above the median of the reference series 1961-90, October 2017appears as a very warm month. In fact, in October of 2017, the average monthly temperature of 13.2ºC exceeds the average of the maximum temperatures (12.8ºC) of the series 1961-90, and is placed second in the entire series since 1916, only exceeded by 13.7ºC recorded in October 2009.
