IZAÑA ATMOSPHERIC RESEARCH CENTRE PARTICIPATES IN AN INTERNATIONAL INTERCOMPARISON OF CONDENSATION PARTICLE COUNTERS AT THE WORLD CALIBRATION CENTRE FOR AEROSOL PHYSICS, IN LEIPZIG, GERMANY

The intercomparison was performed from 19 to 24 September 2011 at the World Calibration Centre for Aerosol Physics, located in the Institute for Tropospheric Research in Leipzig, Germany. In the event, 84 instruments belonging to a several universities and research centre of Europe, North America and Asia participated. Many of these instruments are usually placed at stations of the Global Atmospheric Watch (Figure 1). These exercises are necessary for assessing and quantifying the degree of comparability between the measurements performed by the different instruments. In these exercises the efficiency curve of each particle counter is determined.
