Participation in the “ACVE Conference 2013”

The Izaña Atmospheric Research Center, together with the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, have presented two studies in the “ACVE Conference 2013: Atmospheric Composition Validation and Evolution”, which was held in Frascati (France) from 13 to 15 March 2013.
This conference, organised by the European Space Agency (ESA) on investigating of atmospheric composition, has been an opportunity to present and review the current status of atmospheric databases from remote sensors on board ERS-2 and Envisat. In addition results from Metop and ESA Third Party Missions (GOSAT, Odin, OMI, SciSat, Terra/Aqua) and other atmospheric composition missions have been addressed. Finally, contributions for future ESA missions (Earth Explorers, Sentinels) have also been encouraged.

Scientific presentations:

•    Blumenstock, T., R. Kohlhepp, S. Barthlott, O. E. García, F. Hase, M. Kiefer, U. Raffalski, M. Schneider: Investigation of long-term Stability of MIPAS-ENVISAT O3 and HNO3 Data using ground-based FTIR Measurements in Kiruna (S) and Izaña (E).

•   García, O.E., M. Schneider, F. Hase, T. Blumenstock, A. Wiegele, E. Sepúlveda, A. Gómez-Peláez: Validation of the IASI operational CH4 and N2O products using ground-based Fourier Transform Spectrometers. Preliminary results at the Izaña Observatory (28ºN, 17ºW). Poster presentation.
