Presentation in the Winter 2011 Conferences on Climate Change

On the 25th January the Izaña Atmospheric Research Centre participated in the first of the Winter 2011 Conferences on Climate Change organised by the Canary Islands Agency for Sustainable Development and Climate Change. The conference was held in the Museum of Science and the Cosmos in La Laguna (Tenerife).

After presentations by Jorge Bonnet (Director of the Canary Islands Agency for Sustainable Development and Climate Change) and Manuel Toharia (Scientific Director of the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia), Silvia Alonso (CSIC/AEMET) gave the conference lecture titled “Changes in atmospheric composition related to climate change: studies in the Canary Islands”, in which the interactions of greenhouse gases and aerosols with climate and their relationship with global warming were presented. In addition, the activities of the Izaña Atmospheric Research Centre Greenhouse Gas and Aerosol Monitoring Programs were also presented.
